We provide coaching, professional learning communities, and tailored support for both individual leaders & districts.

The impact of school leaders on student achievement & well-being is second only to classroom instruction.

District leaders. Principals. Instructional coaches. Curriculum coordinators. Special education directors. Department heads.

All need professional leadership support.

The CEL@SSU exists to ensure educational leaders are equipped for the challenges of their day-to-day efforts in schools.

Ongoing support to equip leaders for changes & challenges in the field.

From trauma-informed leadership, to supporting anti-racist work in schools, to interweaving academic and social-emotional learning instructional practices, today’s school leaders need more support than ever to meet rapid shifts in the educational landscape.

What We Do

  • Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)

PLCs provide facilitated communities within which leaders and aspiring leaders can share dilemmas of practice, dig into emergent challenges in the field, and take on shared learning together. PLCs are offered in fully online, hybrid, and in-person formats.

  • Mentoring/Coaching

Coaching provides a partnership tailored to your needs. Typically, we work 1:1 with leaders across the academic year. Coaching can be done in-person, virtually, or in a hybrid arrangement

  • Collaborative Projects

These projects are co-created with district leaders, focusing on local needs. Often, such projects include a collaborative design stage, a needs assessment stage, specifically-designed professional learning experiences across multiple months or an academic year, and an evaluation/reflection stage.

  • Events

We sponsor leadership learning events such as author talks, research presentations, or curated opportunities for just-in-time learning related to cultural/political events.

Uniquely equipped to support leaders now & into the future

Operating at the intersection of research and practice, CEL@SSU is uniquely positioned to meet already-identified leadership needs—as well as those on the horizon.

We build on decades of experience preparing school leaders, providing contextualized leadership learning rooted in the specific needs of local leaders.

  • Throughout all our collaborations, CEL@SSU has consistently modeled strong facilitation, high-quality collaboration, and support grounded in research and best practice. This partnership will undoubtedly make a significant impact on students across our district.
